Hamriyah Free Zone Company Formation Process

Step 1: Choose Your Business Activities and License Type

Selecting the correct license and business activities is crucial for a smooth company setup. Ensure that the activities you choose align with your business objectives and operations, as this will determine the type of license you need. Incorrect selection can lead to issues like limited ability to open a bank account or restrictions on business activities.

Step 2: Determine the Legal Entity of Your Business

Decide on the legal structure for your business. HFZ offers several options, including:

  • FZE (Free Zone Establishment) for single-owner companies.
  • FZC (Free Zone Company) for companies with multiple shareholders.
  • Branch of an existing company, either domestic or international.

Choosing the correct structure is essential as it impacts company ownership, liability, and operational flexibility.

Step 3: Prepare and File the Required Documentation

The next step is to prepare and submit the required documentation:

  • Passport copies of the shareholder(s) and director(s).
  • Passport-size photo(s).
  • Business plan (for certain activities like medical, food, and pharmaceutical businesses).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current sponsor (if applicable), attested by the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Payment for all registration and processing fees.

This minimal paperwork requirement ensures that the process is quick and efficient.

Step 4: Collect the License and Registration Documents

Once your documentation is processed, you’ll receive:

  • Certificate of Incorporation.
  • Business License.
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association (MOA).
  • Investment Service Agreement.
  • Share Certificate.
  • Lease Agreement (only hard copies).

These documents grant you the legal right to operate your business within the HFZ and serve as official proof of your company’s registration.

Step 5: Secure Your Establishment Card

After registration, you will receive an Establishment Card. This card contains your company’s details and visa quotas for the company’s employees.

Step 6: Apply for an Entry Permit

If you are not already in the UAE, you will need to apply for an Entry Permit. Upon arrival, you must complete the biometrics and medical examination process within 60 days. If you are already in the UAE, your current tourist or resident visa will be adjusted to your new business visa.

Step 7: Complete a Medical Test and Submit Visa Documents

Undergo a medical examination and submit the necessary visa documents for you and your employees. The number of available visas depends on the registration package you select. The process also includes applying for residency visas for the company’s owners and employees.

Step 8: Collect Your Emirates ID

Once your visa is approved, you will need to obtain your Emirates ID, which serves as an official identification card within the UAE.

Step 9: Open a Corporate Bank Account

With your company registered and visa issued, you can now open a corporate bank account. This is an essential step to ensure you can start operating your business and manage your finances. HFZ’s reputation makes this process easy, with access to many prominent banks located within the free zone.
